San Gimignano, a medieval town in Tuscany, Italy, is simply stunning. Sitting on a hill overlooking the countryside of Tuscany, San Gimignano is a walled town with several prominent towers that, from a distance, create the illusion of a modern downtown skyline. Only upon approaching the town does one see the medieval architecture, the narrow streets lined with shops and restaurants and the amazing views of the countryside. Spend a couple of days exploring the town and the surroundings. Don't miss out on the "world's best gelato" off the main plaza or a tour of the towers. Enjoy a romantic bed & breakfast, fine dining, and the local wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano!
