Activity Summary for 7 Summits: Mount Everest
- The tallest mountain on Planet Earth sits comfortably like a king in the middle of the Himalayas, one of the youngest, but highest mountain chain in the world

Activity Details- Everest, Nepal - April 2010
2 or more days -
Mount Everest, or the Big E, needs no introduction. The tallest, most famous mountain on Planet Earth sits comfortably like a king in the middle of the Himalayas, one of the youngest, but highest mountain chain in the world. The Himalayas impact the weather in far off places, being responsible for the annual monsoons in Southeast Asia. This virtually impassable stretch of mountains runs southeast from northern Pakistan and India into Nepal and then Bhutan.
Being the highest mountain in the world at a staggering 8,850 m or 29,035 ft, climbing Mt Everest captivates mountain climbers like no other. But not without a price. Mt Everest has claimed over 200 lives. Still, there are many commercial guides that will help you make it to the summit and back, provided you have the financial and physical means to do so. Nearby, there are additional 8,000 m peaks, such as K2, that are technically even more challenging.
