Activity Summary for Sightseeing at Trevi Fountain
- The incredible Fontana di Trevi in Rome is one of the must-see sights in Rome.

Activity Details- Rome, Lazio, Italy - August 2009
2 Hours -
The incredible Fontana di Trevi is a must see. This fountain in the heart of the Modern Center of Rome features a series of statues including the God of Neptune (the God of the Sea) and was completed in 1762. In front of this magnificent work of art is a pool of water near which visitors congregate. Visitors throw in coins for good luck and marvel at the statues. Nearby, there are numerous shops and restaurants.
We visited it in the midday August heat and the water looked as inviting as any pool I have ever seen. The fountain, of course, is not for swimming. Although we visited the fountain during the day, I can only imagine how beautiful it must be late in the evening when it is dark out and the crowds have dispersed. This is undoubtably one of the most romantic places in the world, so be sure to bring your loved one along!
