Activity Summary for Raclette from the Fire
- Feast on traditional Raclette made by grandma herself in the Matterhorn Valley.

Activity Details
- Gasenried, Switzerland - December 2008
2 Hours -
This is a true insider's tip. Located straight across the road from the Kirche Gasenried in Gasenried, near St. Niklaus and Graechen, feast on traditional Raclette made by grandma herself. Her Raclette is prepared in the traditional (and best) way - on an open fire. This place is not well known because it is at the end of the road in the middle of the mountains. I could not find the exact address or phone number online, which shows just how off the beaten path this wonderfully rustic this restaurant is. If you are in the Matterhorn Valley, take the drive up towards Graechen from St. Niklaus and enjoy an unforgettable raclette here!

- Comments/Directions : Drive to Gasenried from St. Niklaus towards Graechen on a steep, windy mountain road. Continue on the Riederstrasse until you reach the end of the road. Here, a tiny village awaits you. Across from a very small church, you will find this gem!
